Material bearing body / bearing surface

Different materials are available for the bearing body as well as for the bearing surface. Depending on the requirements and material of the mating surface, certain material combinations are preferred.

Aluminium (anodised):


• Anodised bearing body for high robustness
• Low mass: suitable for highly dynamic applications

(Hardened) stainless steel:


• High stiffness of the material:
allows for particularly flat design

Special materials:


• Ceramic
• Granite
• Bronze
• CFRP

Aluminium hard anodised:


• High precision due to lowest noise behaviour
• High resistance to scratches
• Suitable for clean room class 1
• Very small bearing size possible (up to a diameter of 8 mm)
• Common guide surfaces: aluminium, granite, plastics, ceramic, steel


(Hardened) stainless steel:


• Very small bearing size possible
• Suitable for clean room class 1
• Highest precision due to low noise behaviour
• Common guide surfaces: anodised aluminium, granite, plastics, ceramic


Epoxy coating:


• Improved emergency operation properties in the event
   compressed air drops out
• Nearly all geometries representable
• Economic production of very large bearing surface (>1 m2) possible
• Suitable for clean room class 1
• Common guide surfaces: aluminium, granite, ceramic, steel
